Organizing Systems Don’t Work Unless You Do

Mar 31

My desk was so beautiful.   I took up the challenge and met my goal.  It still is beautiful – somewhat.  After taking the time to sort, toss, and store, the stacks of paper are growing again.    The folders in my pink action files are getting full.  I haven’t touched them in weeks.

I’ve come to one realization.  The best organizing systems will not work unless you do. This simply means that once you put a system in place, you have to use it.  Plain and simple.  Now that I’ve gotten that through my thick skull,  I’m going to spend a few hours today catching up on the work I’ve allowed to start piling up.

Stay tuned for my post on how I plan to work the system I’ve put in place.

  1. Marjorie, you are so right! I’m struggling to find a system that works for time management / paperwork / filing. I’m not having a problem keeping up my basement at all – but there’s really no time management issue there. Looking forward to your future posts on this subject!
